FIELDS OF BURNT RICE

Locally the place is known as Beras Terbakar which means Field of Burnt Rice. Although there is nothing much to see there now, it has a lot of historic significance. When the battle broke out between Siam and Langkawi at Pancur Straits in 1821, at one stage the then chief of Langkawi's Army Dato Kemboja realized that soon the Siamese would capture the island.
MAHSURI'S TOMB

Mahsuri’s Tomb is the crypt of the legendary Princess Mahsuri. Located in the village of Mawat, 12km from Kuah, it is also known as Makam Mahsuri. Most of the island’s natural attractions have fables attached in true Malay style and Mahsuri’s Tomb is probably its most famous legend.

TELAGA TUJUH

Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls is billed as the island’s most wonderful natural attraction. Set on Langkawi’s western headlands, its name means Seven Wells Waterfalls, referring to a series of seven connected natural pools fed by seven separate waterfalls in Mount Mat Cincang.

Maintaining the Malay Kampung ambiance, this restaurant inherits the Sawah Padi of Kedah influence. The Dining Hall covers an area of over 3000 square feet with 200 capacity. Dine here with Malay Kampung experience, a fusion Malay & Western Cuisine is served within a traditional Kampung Decorations, music and surrounding. This is the new chapter for Seashells Chenang, after 10 successfull years serving at Burau Beach.

Nasi Dagang originated from Terengganu but we can find in Langkawi . The view overlooking of paddy field with the highest mountain on the island in the background  from the restaurant. 'NASI DAGANG PAK MALAU' is located at Jalan Makam Mahsuri.

HIG started as a grocery and wholesale business, established in 2005 after taking over the original Haji Ismail Group which was founded in 1987. Today the company operates from 5 different outlets. 4 of which in Kuah Town and 1 is operating inside the Jetty Point Complex. Walking into any HIG outlets you can expect to see various duty free items such as chocolates, kitchen wares, luggage bags, Batik and Pelikat. The shops are opened as early as 8am at the Jetty Point Complex and 9am for the others.
